Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

For we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful and hating one another. – Titus 3:3

We must never forget where we came from. The reality of the past can be a fitting reminder of just how merciful God has been. You were once a lost and lonely sinner, but God called you home! Because of the Cross, He clothes you with righteousness that washes away all sin.

Only you know the depth of your sin; and from that knowledge springs an eternal understanding of God’s infinite forgiveness! Refrain from judging others long enough to acknowledge that a sleight of hand, or a twist of fate, could have landed you in exactly their position. Praise God for His faithfulness in delivering you from all fear!

Prayer:

Father, thank You for Your mercy! Thank You for Your grace! Thank You for Your infinite kindness towards me. I know just how committed You are to forgiveness, because I know just how lost I was before You found me. Thank You for finding me, in Jesus’ name!
